Here are some pictures from various things over the summer and autumn in Japan, including the Tokyo Rockabilly Club, Fuji Rock, some friends' birthday party, etc.
Some people call them the Dancing Elvises, but they are officially known as the Tokyo Rockabilly Club and they dance to a blasting boombox in Yoyogi Park every Sunday. They're 100% dedicated and they dance and slide around the pavement with some sweet moves and without any sense of irony. Here is a video on YouTube of the TRC filming a scene in September for an upcoming movie, called "Ramen Girl", starring Brittany Murphy. My friend, Hunter, has some good pics of them on his travelogue, under "#10 Leaving Tokyo".
Another good YouTube video of Gaijin Invasion singing in Yoyogi Park. They are a British "band" contrived for the explicit purpose of making it big in Japan.
